The Chevrolet Equinox safety rating from the NHTSA is five stars, with the driver- and front passenger-side rated as five stars. With the side crash test all aspects of the crash test are rated as five stars, including the side barrier and side pole rating. Meanwhile, the rollover crash test is rated four out of five stars. The Chevy Equinox had a rollover risk rate of 18.50%, but it did not tip over during testing.
